Golnar Fozi’s practice entails a broad range of issues facing private companies, public agencies, and religious entities. In her litigation practice, she handles Superior and Federal court cases through discovery, alternative dispute resolution efforts, trials and appeals. She handles complex, multi-party lawsuits in a wide range of areas, from employment litigation to claims for inverse condemnation and boundary disputes. She has successfully defended lawsuits alleging police misconduct and violation of civil rights, one of which recently resulted in the published opinion Crowe v. City of Escondido, et al. (2005) 359 F.Supp.2d 994. Fozi also represents public agencies in administrative hearings, writs and appeals.

In her transactional practice, Fozi assists employers in drafting and implementing sound work place policies in compliance with Federal and State laws. She represents employers in administrative proceedings before the Labor Commissioner, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the Department of Fair Employment and Housing. She advises clients in day to day employment issues such as hiring, firing, investigating harassment claims, and non-competition clauses. She lectures widely on employment issues facing religious employers and small businesses, and provides training in prevention of sexual harassment in the work place.

In addition to the foregoing, Fozi also represents local special districts in matters other than employment law, such as reviewing and drafting indemnity agreements, sewer development agreements, encroachment permits, reimbursement agreements, and interagency agreements.

Fozi is a graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law, where she received the 1993 Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Writing for "Interim Modification of Collective Bargaining Agreements in Chapter 11 Reorganization". She is fluent in three foreign languages: Spanish, French and Persian.
