Samuel C. Gazzo practices civil litigation with emphasis in the defense of public and private entities in many dispute areas including personal injury, dangerous condition of public property, employment and business disputes.

Prior to joining the firm in 2002, Gazzo was on active duty as an officer in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a civil law officer and defense counsel serving Camp Pendleton in San Diego. Gazzo provided legal advice regarding a wide ranges of civil law issues including loss or damage to government property, personal injury or death, claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act, Military Claims Act, and Personnel Claims Acts, copyright and trademark law, and water law.

As military defense counsel, Gazzo also defended and advised hundreds of Marines and Sailors at General and Special Courts-Martial. He tried numerous cases to verdict, and distinguished himself as the best trial advocate out of 57 Department of Defense attorneys at the U.S. Army’s Justice School in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a member of the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, Gazzo was activated and served as an Intelligence Officer during two consecutive combat deployments in Al Anbar province Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Gazzo currently serves as a Commanding Officer for a Reserve Aviation Ground Support Detachment.
